In this statement, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Alliance Global Serve Canada, and the “Act” refers to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

1. Purposes of collecting and keeping personal data

1.1 To process applications for volunteer recruitment, hiring, employment, and matters related to short-term missions;
1.2 To handle donation administration, such as issuing temporary and official receipts, donation acknowledgements, and maintaining donation records;
1.3 To communicate with you in relation to our work, including providing fundraising and educational materials, promotional materials, and issuing urgent fundraising appeals;
1.4 To organize fundraising events, educational activities, or short-term missions;
1.5 For statistical analysis or research purposes;
1.6 To comply with any legal requirements applicable to Alliance Global Serve Canada;
1.7 For other purposes directly related to the fundraising, education, short-term missions, and operational activities of Alliance Global Serve Canada.

2. Consequence of not providing data

Other than the information specified as mandatory in the data collection forms, the provision of personal data is voluntary. If you fail to provide the required information, it may hinder our ability to achieve the above purposes for collecting the data.

3. Transfer of personal data

We will disclose the collected personal data to the following directly related parties (or groups) for the purposes described above:
3.1 Any entity, agent, or other relevant third party that collaborates with the Global Charity Association of Canada in planning fundraising, education, short-term service, or related activities.
3.2 Agents, contractors, or other third parties who provide any administrative, computer, or other related services to the Global Charity Association of Canada in connection with its fundraising, education, short-term service, and other operational activities.
3.3 Any statutory, governmental, or regulatory body involved in compliance with applicable laws and regulations of the Global Charity Association of Canada.

4. Access and correction of personal data

4.1 Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to request access to and correction of your personal information held by us. We may charge a reasonable fee for processing a request for access to such information.
